Indoor Rock Climbing

Construction has begun to add two additional tennis courts. The project, which began on April 14th, is scheduled for completion by mid-June. This addition starts with preparing the pads under the courts, quickly moving to paving which will take 3 to 4 weeks to cure. The final steps of the project include; painting, fencing adding light fixtures and shade structures to the two new courts.

Indoor Rock Climbing

Rock climbing develops skill, concentration, and not to mention some pretty strong arm muscles. "It beats hitting a normal gym, where you are pumping iron all day," said Paul Cahill, one of a growing number of Americans hooked on indoor rock climbing. "You come in here and basically see where your goal is to finish." "It is a little intimidating," admitted Greg Perry, the owner of Atlanta Rocks, an indoor rock climbing gym. "Most people come in and look up, and don't know what to do first." The first step is a safety lesson and equipment check, followed by the mental and physical challenges and health benefits of scaling those increasingly difficult climbing walls. "When you are climbing, you are using your body, but not necessarily breathing real hard during the process. So you can work up a sweat, but not the same type of sweat you will get from running or biking," Perry said. Some other benefits to climbing: It can improve your flexibility and hand eye coordination, not to mention you also get that exhilarating feeling of such an accomplishment climbing that wall.

The Benefits Of Colorful Foods

Green, red, blue -- the brighter the better when it comes to foods that are good for you. "Colorful fruits and vegetables -- like broccoli, like tomatoes, like carrots, like oranges -- have lots of different antioxidants, lots of phyto-chemicals," explained Colleen Doyle of the American Cancer Society. Phytochemicals are naturally occuring plant compounds that may prevent disease. Antioxidants like beta carotene and lycopene help protect from cell damage. In spite of their helpful properties, the American Cancer Society said there is no single substance or food that will ward off disease. "We don't know which of those antioxidants and phyto-chemicals are more protective, and that's why we encourage people to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day," Doyle said. The American Dietetic Association recommended eating broccoli, cherries, tomatoes and apples to help improve heart and brain function. Yellows and oranges, like grapefruit, cantaloupe, squash and carrots, boost the immune system.

Get Off On The Right Foot For Running

If you are looking to lose weight -- or you have a goal of training for a certain race -- there's one thing you need to get off on the right foot -- the proper sneakers If you have decided to start running, congratulations. It is great exercise and it is good for your physical and mental health. But before you start training, make sure you have the right sneakers. Robyn Goldstein decided to start running a couple of years ago. She started walking and then gradually progressed -- at first. "I had no idea how important shoes were," Robyn Goldstein, avid runner. Running shoes are incredibly important. If you don't have the right shoe, you could suffer an injury. Shin splints and inner knee pain are common injuries. "Then we go down the foot to plantar fasciatis -- tears from your heel and it's very painful," explained Betsy Hughes, a running expert and owner of the owner, Track Shack. So, here are some tips to keep in mind: * Consider how often you run and for how long. * Are your feet flat, high arched or normal? * Ask the experts -- go to a store that specializes in running. * Make sure you try out the sneakers and they are comfortable. * Keep track of how many miles you are running on your sneakers. Experts say 300 to 500 miles -- then it's time to change your shoes. For Robyn, the right pair of sneakers has made all the difference. Now she runs marathons almost every month. "It makes me feel amazing. It's a way for me to get out and enjoy life," Robyn said..

Daylight Savings Time Change

Starting in 2007, daylight time begins in the United States on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. On the second Sunday in March, clocks are set ahead one hour at 2:00 a.m. local standard time, which becomes 3:00 a.m. local daylight time. On the first Sunday in November, clocks are set back one hour at 2:00 a.m. local daylight time, which becomes 1:00 a.m. local standard time. Lawmakers passed the Energy Policy Act of 2005, hoping to save energy by lowering consumption. It stretches daylight-saving time to 34 weeks. That means this year the time change will happen on Nov. 3rd.
